The computer as an instrument
Before the saxophone, I played the computer. I started messing around in FL Studio at age 12, heavily influenced by EDM giants like deadmau5, Armin Van Buren, Anjunabeats, Avicii, Pretty Lights, UKF Dubstep… your typical 2010s electronic vibe.
But when I picked up the saxophone, I rejected all electronically made music (I had to channel my teenage angst somewhere). Skip to 2023 where, out of boredom and curiosity, I started making beats again with Arturo Valdez and Alexis Kagüe from La Quinta. We became NSFCL. We released our first EP in May of 2024.
Currently, I not only produce but also mix and master all of NSFCL’s music. We are producing Emy Castro’s new, peruvian-pop album, Mass Effect. Ableton Live is the DAW of choice for these projects.
And some stuff I’ve secretly released…
